The area of London near the Old Street roundabout is nicknamed "Silicon Roundabout" because of its heavy concentration of digital businesses. In 2014 it was said to have the third largest cluster of startups in the world after San Francisco and New York City (see Silicon Roundabout is alive and well 17 March 2014 Tech City News). Many of the world's leading technology companies are there as well as specialist accountancy, banking, legal and other support services (see London's Digital Industry Tech City).

Google has opened premises at 4-5 Bonhill Street known as Campus London which offers space and services for entrepreneurs such as startup training, mentoring and networking. Google has established similar campuses in Madrid, Sao Paolo, Seoul, Tel Aviv and Warsaw.

Facilities for startups are also available at the Innovation Warehouse in the old Smithfield market.
